A bungee cord is used to tighten the handle and hammer together from arbitrary slipping. It helps to relieve stress on the spike anchor while in tension so that the holding power is high.

How to use the spike anchor?

Remove the bungee cord from the spike anchor. Simply drive the handle down to deliver the hammer to the shoreline. Once the spike is secured, simply tie off the bottom ring. To eject the anchor, just hold the PVC grip and pull up, the sand anchor for the boat will come up just the way it was pushed in.
